Getting Started
Today, classes went well, work went well, everything went splendidly. Except for the fact that I slept through breakfast, something I have done only twice since I have arrived here at Covenant. This makes three times. I feel sort of like this is becoming a tiny bit...normal now. I was too tired to make the effort to get up and get a shower, get dressed in layers of warm clothes and go all the way to Carter Hall and eat the not-too-fantastic breakfast there. This has happened only on Tuesdays. This morning was one of those mornings I suppose. Work at 8 o'clock? Surely this is some sort of punishment for something I have done wrong...or not, just my terribly busy schedule. Work from 8 to 11, RUF from 11-12, lunch from 12-12:30, check my mail, work on homework until 1 then class from 1-2, grab another quick bite to eat after class, then Work again from 2:30-5:00...ahh Tuesdays. Gotta love 'em. Monday, Wednesday and Friday's are almost as bad. Work from 8-9, class 9-10, work from 10-11, chapel 11-11:35, Lunch 11:35-12:00, Homework 12-1, Work 1-2, Class 2-3, Work 3-4, Class 4-5:15, dinner at 5:30ish, then homework until bed at around 1 or 2:30. Needless to say I enjoy the weekends where I have some sort of break in between the times I sleep at night.
This morning was also far colder than I think it should have been. This afternoon I walked by a thermometer and it said that the frigidity in the air measured below 40 degrees. Much too cold for a Florida boy like myself. Even the eight and a half months in mountains of North Carolina haven't gotten me used to the bitter cold of Lookout Mountain in December, or barely December. The first day technically counts, right? Of course it does.
It is nearing Christmas time, December is here and so is its blustery weather. As of now I am seeking shelter in the library, and even though I do not plan on leaving for another few hours until it closes at 12:45am, I am dreading the immensely chilly walk back to my dorm room. It isn't far, but far enough to send a nice chill all throughout your body, causing you to practically scream for hot chocolate and a cozy blanket by the fire. This short journey I am not looking forward to.
At least I have a great building to get back to. I just love my building. Founders is by far the most awesome building on all of campus, yes there are amazing people in the other buildings, but the building as a whole has more character than all the others, not to mention more history than all the others (except for Carter, and that's only because it's the oldest). Not to mention that the Founders People are among the coolest on the planet, possibly among the coolest of all time. The majority of my friends reside in Founders, not to say that I don't have friends on other buildings. My Founders friends are respectively awesome.
Christmas time, it's finally here, and at the same time it came too soon, where did 2009 go? It has come and gone faster than I care to admit. I am, however, very anxious to see what 2010 holds, and what God has in store for me.
You blog! Hallelujah! Welcome to the wonderful world of blogging. :)
