the beginning of inspiration

Skinny Jeans. Campus Activity Board Shirt. Maroon Cardigan. Cinnamon Orange Tea. Long awaited sleeping in. Cozy Blankets. Young the Giant. The smell of Perfect Cup Coffee. Darker-than-they-should-be-Cookies. A Chill outside. Fresh Fruit. Friends that are more like siblings. Staying up late. Traveling entirely too much. Seattle. My brothers future In-Laws. Downtown Seattle. Possible future home-town?

In the past two and a half weeks I have been in seven different cars, on four different planes, two trains, and two buses. I have been in 7 different states. I have been entirely too tired. I have had the best times. I have been worried sick. I have been sick. I have been healthy. I have had a hard time. I have doubted. I have cried. I have rushed. I have been nostalgic. I have been angry. I have been sad. I have been frustrated beyond compare. I have felt pure exhilaration.  I have missed people.

This has been my Christmas Break. It has been a whirlwind. The last night the campus was open I went to a party at Jeremy's house with people from First Belz, and a few others. I went back to campus to spend some much needed time with some very wonderful friends. Found out some news that two of said wonderful people are now dating. This was also the night that my brother and erin got engaged. Warm fuzzy feelings.
After they all went to bed I went back to the party to give a few friends there a ride back to campus. I then went to bed entirely too late.
I left Covenant Friday, December 16th after a very enjoyable breakfast with mom at Aretha Frankenstein's. I went back to campus, and packed my car and left campus by 12:15pm. Saying goodbye was sad as usual. Especially to those that would not be returning in the Spring. I stopped by Atlanta (on the way back to Daytona) with April, Nicole, and Seth to get Ethiopian food. It was a wonderful decision. After driving around to find the restaurant for around an hour we found it at last. I was shocked I had not had Ethiopian food prior to this occasion. It was fantastic. Also it was some of the only meat I had eaten since the summer. This semester I was a vegetarian. I love eating oober healthy. Anyways. I left arrived in Daytona at around 11:45pm the night of the 15th. I went to bed after catching up with dad for an hour or so. Slept in until 9am. Woke up, grabbed a quick shower. Went to breakfast/a lunch-ish meal with dad at Panera at around 10. Left right from there for Cape Coral at 11ish. Arrived in Cape Coral after my phone kept messing up. Got in at 3:45pm that afternoon (the 17th). After I got in, I unpacked my car briefly, and ran to Advanced Auto Parts to get a headlight and some wiper fluid for my The Hatchling. Went back to the Johns' to once again find the house empty. They had left for Vacation in North Carolina earlier that day. Sadly, I had missed them. Install the headlight. Fill up the Wiper Fluid. Repack for Seattle, WA. Wake up Sunday morning (the 18th), go to church.
Leave immediately after for the airport with Robbie. Robbie graciously drops me off. I leave for Seattle, with a layover in Chicago. The first flight went great. The middle-aged man sitting next to me was either terrified of flying, or normally passes out on flights. He sat down and didn't move once the entire flight until the landing where he started shaking. I felt the need to offer to hold his hand. I didn't. The layover was about an hour and a half. Just enough time to grab a mid-way meal before dinner and after lunch. Burger from Chili's. On break I decided to not be a vegetarian until the spring semester. Feeling gross since it's some of the first meat I have had is a burger, but i adjusted and felt fine. The second flight went alright. This time instead of a window seat I got the middle of the right side of the plane in between a small Asian professor who kept felling asleep grading papers, and a very nice lady from Seattle who was not exactly petite. About halfway through the flight the lady next to my got up, and then a few minutes later sat down again. Unfortunately let's say I only had 3/4 of an airplane seat the last two hours of the flight. Arrived in Seattle at 8:45pm Seattle time. So it felt like 11:45pm for me. The time difference messes with your mind. Spent 10 days with the Kelly's. Christmas was wonderful, as were the baking days, and Seattle as a whole. I can honestly see myself living there someday.
I love it there. That was the most relaxing part of my break so far, and I think it will remain the most relaxing part. Got along so well with Erin's family. It was great. Left on a plane the 28th back for Orlando. My brother misread the flight information. Somehow. I woke up at 6:45, went to the airport. After copious amounts of confusion discovered that my flight was not leaving at 8:50am, but 11:35am. Lucky me! I got the chance to wait around the Seattle airport for a few hours. Flew out (still on the 28th), and the flights went wonderfully. I had books, and a charged iPod with me. Layover in Denver, Colorado for two hours. Grabbed a Smoothie from Jamba Juice, and a small pizza. Flew into the Orlando Airport, and drove back to Daytona for the night. Woke up (This was now the 29th), and drove back down to Cape Coral. Spent a few days there. The time there was incredible. Wonderful people. Wonderful food. Wonderful fellowship. New Years Eve was great. Farmers Market in the morning, back for grocery shopping with Mrs. Johns, lunch, reading for the majority of the afternoon. Fun reading. Lemony Snicket. Fell asleep reading. It was fantastic just to know that I could. The night was full of games, and friends. Woke up the next morning (the 1st of January 2012), picked up Christopher and Erin from Ft. Myers who had come the day after I had arrived. Went to church, and packed the car hurriedly, then ran back to the Beau Rivage and packed their stuff also. Ran to pump up my tire a bit, then went to my Aunt and Uncle's house in Port Charlotte. From there I went with my dad and uncle to Walmart where they fixed my tire, then drove back to my uncles house and picked up christopher and erin. Grabbed a quick plate of food, then left for Daytona from Pt Charlotte. Arrived at 9pm..ish on the 1st. Ordered Pizza. Went to bed. Slept in the next morning. That would be today..or technically yesterday. Relaxing has been the theme of the day. Wonderful relaxation. Love it. The plan for this week is to leave for Auburn, AL on the 6th, and see the Stith's. Then dropping Christopher and Erin off at the airport the 7th and then my Spring Semester begins.

So this has been my break so far. Exhausting. Occasionally restful. All well worth it.
