reflections, revelations, and recapitulations
so, honestly i wrote this title because i liked the sound of it and it is pertinent to my present mood. today has been interesting. there have been high's a low's. life has had it's way with my day. emotions of all sorts. there are so many things i could go on about. but i'll stick with just a few. first; let me say that it has been entirely too long since i've written a bla(h)g. now i will launch into it. i am in a good mood. contemplative; but good. i've had an interesting night...well...and interesting day. it was assessment day. that means no classes. a very good thing. i needed today. well..i needed tonight. even though it's only a little past 8:30 now. [i'm sure it will be much later when i am finished] this morning i woke up at around 11:15am. go ahead and call me lazy. every other morning i wake up at 6:45am. when i get the chance to sleep in, oh boy do i take advantage of it. sure i skipped work-study. oh well. two days this week one of my classes is cancelled, so i have that time that i can make it up. anyways. back to what i was saying. i slept in, then grabbed a quick shower and headed to lunch with erin. a good meal. although the food was sub-par, so i settled for a sandwich. pb&j. the 'j' here stands for strawberry jam - which is remarkably better than strawberry jelly in my opinion. then i came back to the room, and surfed facebook for a while not really knowing what else to do, and not wanting to do homework in the least. after facebook surfing i took a quick 45 minute nap, then was on my way to meet with deam voyles to go over the library 'incident' as he refers to it. oh? you don't know about the library..well last tuesday night peter upton, myself, and jacob corbett hid in the library until it closed. upon its closing we emerged from our hiding spots, and proceeded to explore the library in the dark. we then proceeded to push a handful of chairs together to form a few bed-like places that we could sleep on. one of us decided to put a hammock in between two of the bookshelves. the security guard decided to make a quick run-through of the library at 3:30am. this was not a typical occurance. it just so happened that he was training the new security guard because it was his[the new security guard's] first night on the job. we would have picked that night. either way, he got our names, and told us that we would be meeting with voyles to discuss this. it figures that we would get caught. anyways, that thursday the three of us went to meet with voyles and discuss the 'library incident'. voyles said something along the lines of 'i can't do anything right now because the lady that runs the library is out of town for a while, but when she gets back i will let you guys know what we will do'. the next meeting was today. we are sentanced to dusting the library, and buying the lady that runs the library a bag of candy each. such a harsh punishment. yes. that was sarcastic. anyways, peter and i met with voyles and received our sentance and jacob went after. then, i came back to the room and talked with kelly for a while. while talking to kelly i also was trying to find a car that i could borrow so that a few friends and i could go down the mountain and not have to settle for the great hall for dinner. sadly, there was no car to be had so i raced to the great hall with minutes to spare...actually it was more along the lines of having a half an hour to get there. so i ate dinner with some awesome people, then a few people left, and it left three of us. [for the sake of their privacy i will refrain from using names] funny thing, i don't really know either of these people very well. but it was extremely enjoyable. i learned a good bit about them, and understand one of them in particular better. which was great. while the three of us were talking someone started playing the piano which is an instant happiness for me depending on what they play. this was a good selection. Then I came back to my room feeling very light[do you know how you feel on a particularly bright and sunny day? yea, that feeling], and watched the sunset while writing in my journal. a very good decision, even amidst the cold wind rustling the leaves and my clothing. it was very picturesque. the sun setting, the grass, the wind cold against my bare skin, and the simple pleasure of writing. ahh...so nice. goodness, i could go on about many other things, but i am leaving you, my dear reader, for my dearest. until next time my friend.
