Up and Coming
Wow. So much has been going on. Things have been crazy. I don't know if they are crazier than usual...but not any less crazy. It is that time in the semester when a ton of work is due, and consequently nobody wants to do any of it.
Apathy.
The most bitter enemy of any college student. Yep. It's set in alright. But there are only a few weeks left until the end of the semester. We can make it. We'll survive.
Easter Break was this past weekend. It was.......restful. I spent some time with a few great friends, and went to a wonderful Easter Service at New City. I got to read. I got a bit sun-burnt. It was a good break overall. Not to mention that it also ended Lent. Not that I take Lent seriously, at all. I figure that if you are doing something you should have to give up for a certain period of time, then you should not be doing said thing in the first place. I was talked into giving up swearing for Lent, by one of my hallmates. Not that I swear very much at all, but I am minimizing my usage of strong language to nearly non-existent. I have been cutting down on my language usage anyways, so this just seemed like an additional measure to take, even though i didn't take any stock in it. So, i have ceased swearing from the beginning of Lent until it was over. I also do not feel the need to swear even since Lent is over. Also, I decided that when Lent was over I would resign the fact of my Vegetarianism. It is not that i'm tired of it at all. However, being vegetarianism while eating out of the dining hall severely limits your choices in what you are able to eat. I made countless combinations that were quite tasty while I was vegetarian. But living and being able to buy my own food will be easier to coordinate with the rest of the house if I was not a vegetarian. Also, I miss meat. The texture and consistency most. I missed being able to really chew something. You don't really get that with vegetables or fruit. Also, my chief source of protein was beans, and those get old after a while. Especially when there are only Black and Red beans offered. It gets old. Not that i'm complaining at all! I loved being vegetarian. So, now I am not vegetarian anymore. I still don't eat meat very often. Barely at all, actually. But having the freedom to eat what I want, and know it is healthy to eat meat every now and then. As well as the freedom to eat what I want without being limited to a certain thing. Or limiting myself from something.
In other news, I am also living off campus next semester. I am living with a few of my really good friends, in a house (hopefully) not too far from campus. Neil, Sam, Grady and I currently have a few possibilities as to where we could live. We are going to go look at another house tomorrow afternoon. I will miss living on campus so much. I will miss the Catacombs, and the hall community. But I will still be around a bunch. I keep telling myself this to make me feel better about moving off campus. My reasons for moving off campus are various. It is cheaper to live off campus. I am ready to move off campus. I am really looking forward to growing closer to the guys I will be living with. They are all great guys who I am truly blessed to have in my life. I'm looking forward to being able to cook my own meals, and slowly be able to transition into living on my own. I think it will do me good to be off campus. I will miss lots here, but it will not go to waste. I will surely make the most of it.
Also, I'm still serious about writing letters! So, send me your address in an e-mail to tyler.scharf5191@gmail.com or send me a letter and I will heartily return one to you. My address is

Seriously. I will send a letter back pronto. My advice is that you should do it, even if you don't particularly know me that well.
