So, it's been a while
Well. I am exceedingly mad at blogger at the moment. I had a very extensive post going and it decided to delete the whole thing just for no reason whatsoever. The best part is that I left for about an hour to go work-out and have forgotten most of what I was writing about.
Well, other then being irritated at blogger I am doing well. I think I was talking about how cold it is outside, and work today, and something about a puddle of snow/water screaming at me...oh well. I will recall as much as I can. Let me re-start. Here we go.
Hello there old friend,
I may call you old but have no idea whether or not you are old or young or anywhere in between. I do not know where you are reading this or if you are even paying attention to what I have written here. I do not know what time of day it is where you are, or where exactly you are. I say all this in order to allow you to know that I am clueless as to your situation, other than knowing that you are alive and [hopefully] conscious. In any other case I would be worried, but alas, if you were not conscious you obviously wouldn't be reading anything, would you now? I didn't think so. So it is my duty to inform you of what is going on in my life. Not to say at all that I am not interested in what is going on with you. Please let me know. I will be eager to listen to what is new with you.
Anywho.
It is about 8:32pm this wonderfully frigid evening. I estimate that at around 9pm I will get changed and go to the gym and work-out for the first time since last Wednesday. That is, unless you count the few days I spent shoveling snow out of the pathways here on campus. On Monday, classes were cancelled because of all the snow. There wasn't really that much, but alot of the teacher wouldn't have been able to get up the mountain to campus. Ahh, the advantages and disadvantages of living atop a mountain, but not just on top, at the very top of it. It's great. The sunrises and sunsets are heavenly;tinged with purple's, fuscia's and brilliant orange's.
On another note, the weather is seeming to get to me more and more every day. The cold chills me right down to my bones. I'm just looking forward to the warmth. The sunshine is what I've been craving ever since it started getting cold. It wasn't too bad in Florida over Christmas Break however. It was such a good time down there. It will be fantastic to be back over Spring Break. I want to not just be warm, but sweat...not from working hard outside, but just because I've soaked up all the sunrays.
Well it's time for me to go to the gym. Until I get back.
-Tyler
Well, now that was quick wasn't it? At least it was for you. It's now about 10pm on a frigid night such as this. Have I mentioned how cold it is outside?
Anyhow.
Work wasn't overwhelmingly terrible. My morning shift wasn't too bad, actually I'm having a hard time remembering what I did...the days are so long and filled with activity it's hard to keep them all straight! I think I just cleaned up the shop this morning. I was late to my first class again. The class that begins at 9am. I guess it's common knowledge that if you have work-study from 8-9 there is a very small chance that you will get to class on time. This afternoon wasn't exactly peachy though. The grounds team has made it a point to not waste any spare second of time. On days like today where doing anything is next to useless, our boss [Robert] has decided to educate us on the plants found on campus, and their names and origins. It wouldn't have been so bad if the wind was non-existent or if I had worn an additional pair of socks instead of forgetting that I was just wearing one. It also would have been better if I had not stepped in a puddle of water that had snow across the surface making it look suspisciously like a small collection of snow grouped in a pile. It seemed to be saying, "You can step in me, I'm just a little pile of snow. Don't worry, your foot won't get wet" when in reality what it was saying was, "DONT STEP IN ME! YOU'RE ONLY WEARING ONE PAIR OF SOCKS AND I WILL RUN RIGHT THROUGH THEM AND SATURATE YOUR ENTIRE SHOE, ALSO YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO WARM YOUR FEET UP UNTIL 5 O'CLOCK TONIGHT!". I shouldn't have stepped in it, I know. But I'll remember not to next time. But other then the frozen feet, blisteringly cold wind and scientific names of plants that were all too familiar, it wasn't a bad day of work. We did get off about 15 mintutes early which was an added bonus.
I also died in Assassins today. It's a game that Covenant is playing where you sign up, and are assigned a person to "kill" by hitting them with a stream of water issued from a water-gun. The game has various rules, and regulations where you can shoot people, and what the people getting shot can be doing while you are attempting to 'murder' them. The last person standing gets $25 and a Mac t-shirt. Like anyone would really want a t-shirt from Mac. Please. Anyways, the game started a week ago today, so I lasted exactly a week. Plus, now I don't have to carry around a water gun with me everywhere I go. It's even better now because the gun leaked. But it was soo much fun while it lasted. I had a great time, and can't wait until next year to do it all over again.
On another note, tomorrow I work all day. And I mean "all day" as in from 8am to noon, then from 1pm to 2pm, then from 3:45pm until 5pm. It's so exhausting, but it pays the bills. I'm going to try and do something else for work-study next semester-Lord Willing I'm still at Covenant. But the problem would be that I wouldn't know where else to work, or want to work. Admissions maybe? I'm not sure if I could get the same hours there, but I really don't want to do grounds again. There are a bunch of things that have to do with me moving to somewhere else instead of doing Grounds. I love the people on Grounds, but a lot of them are probably going to do something other then Grounds as well. Right now we have a great group of people; Walter, Stephen, Jen, Megzema, Snuggs, Mendez, Keifer, Toria, Jillian, Erin, etc. It's a great group. But it is a hassle to have to run back and forth between classes real quick and change out of my muddy, grimy clothes into ones that don't smell like dirt and weeds and mulch and snow and rotting wood. I guess it's all a part of the job. I enjoy working with everyone though. That would be the only reason I would stay.
I don't know exactly why I remembered this, but the other night three girls texted me the exact same message asking me "Out of the three of them who would I rather date?" I replied to them all "Well you of course". They all replied mostly the same thing. One was "You Jerk!", One was "You Player!", One was "You Tool!". After a while of being insulted and being aware of the practical joke that was attempting to be played on me they replied [all of them the exact same thing] "Just kidding. I would love to go out on a date with you. When can we go?" I replied that I would love to go on a date with them [I replied this to all of them..the exact same message back to them] and tomorrow night would be perfect. So they each wanted to go to a different restaurant, and all wanted to take one of their cars [Mary's]. So tomorrow night came and went, and the time for the 'dates' passed, and they all texted me "I'm really busy studying for a test, how does the Blink sound instead?" I [with no intention of actually going] replied that that sounded grand and that I would meet them there ( ;] ). When they all arrived at the Blink [which is a local sandwich shop on campus, they serve smoothies, sandwiches, mini pizzas, etc.] they all texted me the exact same message once again, [this one was all in caps!] "WHERE ARE YOU AND WHY ARE THERE TWO OTHER GIRLS HERE???" I then told them that I sad secretly set up a bonding time with each other, and that they could all use it. To this point they all replied that there will be retribution. In their case they meant they wouldn't talk to me at all today. Which, honestly was mostly funny when I would open the door for one of them and they would totally ignore me, and my very existence. Now they just act like they are mad at me, when in reality, the joke was on them.
I think it's time for me to close this post by saying that this is a very sad summation of the things that have happened since my previous post, but unfortunately it is late [or sort of late for a college student such as myself, it's only midnight] and I am going to attempt to get to bed before 1am, which has become the norm for me. If there were only more hours in the day, and more hours at night to catch up on all the energy you had expended throughout the day. Oh well. Life is like this for a purpose, thank God for that. He remains faithful. Praise be to Him and His plans for my life.
Goodnight old friend, and until next time [which will hopefully not be nearly as long as the prior gap].
